Alpine House 01

Alpine House number 01 was completed in 2000, and was designed around passive solar principles.  On a steep site with sun to the north and views to the south, the open plan living area get the best of both sun and views.  Bedroom spaces are on the top level to benefit from natural ventilation during both winter & summer.

The curve shape is a response to the site’s contours and is crafted in 300mm thick poly block construction.  The external a plaster is textured with a pebble finish to allow falling snow to ‘feather’ over the form during winter!
